The quiet, elegant café has become his “best habitat” for education work and research, while the cat lounge tucked inside offered his first “GCC-style surprise”. “The cats are adorable; the space melts your stress away in seconds,” he laughs.

“I want my classes relaxed and fun. A song during the break, a piece of candy in their hands—small tricks to keep morale high.” Positive emotions, he believes, fuel better learning. He also values open teaching-related chats with Chinese colleagues, appreciating the college’s inclusive academic climate.

Looking ahead, an experience that has far exceeded his expectations has solidified Reece's resolve to stay. He explicitly expressed his hope to transform GCC from a brief "stop" into a long-term "home." “My experience so far has exceeded every expectation; I honestly see GCC as my professional home.”He already has a concrete goal: to leverage his expertise and introduce a course, sharing a broader knowledge range with GCC students.
