On March 10th, GCC held a signing ceremony with Tencent Education and Golden Education to jointly build “Silk Road Industry Institute”. Liu Shuang, General Manager of Tencent Education South District, Shu Chang, Vice President of Golden Education, Lv Quanrong, Secretary of the School Party Committee, Zhang Yan and Guo Hang, Vice Presidents of GCC, and relevant leaders of enterprises and secondary colleges attended the signing ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Guo Hang.

      Lv Quanrong said that this signing ceremony will integrate internationalization and industrialization, which indicates that a new and vigorous form of education cooperation is about to be fully opened. He briefly introduced the location advantages, school-running conditions and school-running achievements of GCC and emphasized that promoting the integration of “new business + ICT” is an important subject of discipline construction in the college. Co-construction of Silk Road Industry Institute gives full play to the advantages of industrial experience from GCC, Tencent Education and Golden Education, and the combination of industry and teaching is an important measure to adapt to the social and economic development and explore the international talent cultivation of new business. It can create a three-dimensional and multifaceted development model for the school talent cultivation, provide a high-quality platform for students’ all-round development, and help students achieve high-paying employment, high-quality overseas study and comprehensive development. Lv believes that the in-depth cooperation with Tencent and Golden Education will explore a more comprehensive and pragmatic development path and direction for the future development of the college and hopes to promote Tencent Education and Golden Education to set a new banner in the field of higher education.

       Liu Shuang introduced the advantages of Tencent and Tencent Education in the integration of industry and education and personnel training. She said that this tripartite cooperation will further expand the breadth and depth of cooperation, constantly seek new cooperation possibilities within the scope of new business and explore new modes of talent cultivation in the fields of financial technology, intelligent finance, the combination of big data and business. Tencent will join hands with Golden Education, relying on the accumulated industrial actual production cases as well as the accumulation of research and development on software and hardware, and cooperate with GCC to build a joint school-running mechanism that is guided by the social talent market and students' employment needs, supported by industries, associations and enterprises, and combined with Industry-University-Research. Three parties will build a training carrier for advanced applicative and skilled talents with the college as the main body, Tencent and Golden Education as the two wings, and set up a cooperation platform in academic research, project development, information service, etc., so as to jointly create the highest-level training scheme for new business talents in China and cultivate new business talents who can stand at the forefront of the industry.

      Shu Chang mentioned that this cooperation is an active exploration of a new mode of in-depth integration of industry and education as well as talent cultivation between schools and enterprises, which will surely add infinite vigour and vitality to the education and economic development of the college and Huangpu District, and will also lay a sound and solid foundation for further cooperation between GCC and Golden Education. He introduced the basic situation and industry advantages of education in Golden and said that the establishment of “Silk Road Industry Institute” meets the needs of current social development and higher education reform. The tripartite cooperation will gradually explore the management and operation mechanism, taking the professional construction center, training center, social service center and career development center as the starting point, giving full play to their respective advantages, developing industrial talents, realizing the integration of professional education and industrial demand, of social practice and vocational education, of special project research and industrial development, of student development and vocational skills, and finally realizing the deep integration of talent chain and industrial chain, and building an application-oriented undergraduate industry-education integration model school.

     Lv Quanrong, Liu Shuang and Shu Chang signed the Agreement on Cooperation and Co-construction of Silk Road Industry Institute on behalf of Guangzhou College of Commerce, Tencent Education and Golden Education respectively.

According to the Agreement, the three parties will cooperate in building the "Silk Road Industry Institute", exploring a new mode of talent training, designing the curriculum system and teaching content in the majors of Big Data, Intelligent Finance and Financial Technology, constructing the Industry-University-Research system, promoting the teaching staff team, students’ practice and training, and building the training base, which will play a positive role in exploring the in-depth development of the integration of industry and education in GCC.
